Peer Tutor - Engineering Courses
The Academic Success Center, in collaboration with the School of Engineering and Computer Science, is seeking Peer Tutors who will assist fellow students in understanding and mastering SECS-related course material, beginning in the Fall 2026 semester. Peer Tutors provide academic support, clarify concepts, and help students develop effective study strategies.
We are currently hiring for:
- EGR
- 1200, 1400, 2400, 2500, 2600, 2800
- MTH
- 1441, 1554, 1555
- PHY 1510, 1520
- CHM 1440

Pay Rate: $15/hour
Duties:
- Provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for students to learn
- Conduct one-on-one and group tutoring sessions
- Provide strategies to enhance understanding of course material
- Utilize active listening to identify students' needs
Additional Information:
- Shifts are determined by subject/course need and the tutor's course schedule.
- Hours are scheduled during the range of: Monday through Thursday 10am 6pm and Fridays 10am - 3pm.
- This position will begin in September 2026.
- Must complete 10 hours of paid training, achieving Level 1 CRLA Certification by the end of First Academic Year employed.
Qualifications:
- Must be a currently enrolled OU student in a degree-seeking program with three or more listed courses completed at OU.
- Second-semester freshman standing or higher
- Minimum 3.7 GPA (A-) in the course(s) tutored
- Adequate demonstration of time/task management skills
- Obtain a minimum of one recommendation form from a current OU faculty member. Faculty can access and complete the form using the following link: OU Faculty Recommendation Form
