Classroom Teacher

As a teacher, you will be responsible for implementing curriculum, maintaining a positive classroom culture, using assessments to drive instructional practice, and contributing to the educational and social development of all students by implementing culturally relevant teaching practices.  U Prep teachers use district resources in an efficient and responsible manner and participate in professional development.   

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in professional development opportunities and implement best practices acquired that focus on instruction and high student achievement.  
  • Provide instruction that is culturally responsive and culturally sustaining.  
  • Builds relationships with students to create a positive, structured learning environment where students feel safe, supported, and empowered to grow.
  • Actively engage parents in the learning process and work collaboratively with families. 
  • Use data to refine lesson plans and inform instructional practices.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in content area.
  • Valid Michigan teaching certification with an endorsement or enrolled in a teacher certification program leading to certification.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
