Event Planning and Fundraising Intern

Nonprofit Event Planning & Fundraising Intern

Help make a difference for those impacted by domestic violence. Fully remote with a flexible schedule (~4 to 6 hours per week).

Position Overview

Are you passionate about making a meaningful impact in your community? We are seeking motivated, detail-oriented interns to support our event planning and fundraising efforts. This role offers hands-on experience in nonprofit operations, community engagement, and donor relations. Ideal for individuals eager to directly contribute to an important cause while building valuable professional skills.

Confronting Domestic Violence is based in San Diego, CA. This is a fully remote role with flexible hours, and optional opportunities for in-person engagement for applicants located near San Diego. 

Key Responsibilities

Event Planning & Coordination

  • Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising events (virtual and in-person)
  • Coordinate logistics, including venue research, vendor communication, and scheduling
  • Support event promotion through social media, email campaigns, and outreach
  • Help manage event registration, guest lists, and on-site coordination

Fundraising Support

  • Research potential donors, sponsors, and grant opportunities
  • Assist with donor outreach, stewardship, and follow-up communications
  • Support the creation of fundraising materials (presentations, emails, campaigns)
  • Help track donations and maintain accurate donor records

Communications & Outreach

  • Contribute to social media content, and marketing materials
  • Engage with community partners and stakeholders
  • Assist with storytelling efforts to highlight impact and mission
     

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized and attentive to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace
  • Familiar with social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.)
  • Interest in nonprofit work, social impact, and/or community development
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Team-oriented attitude
