Funded Graduate Student Program: Master's Research Position in Biomedical Sciences
The Song Lab in the Department of Biological Sciences at Oakland University is seeking a motivated master’s student to join our research group beginning in the Fall 2026 semester. A funded position is available for a student interested in cell biology, developmental biology, genetics, and molecular mechanisms of centrosome regulation.
Our lab uses C. elegans embryos as a model system to study centrosome assembly, spindle formation, protein regulation, and RNA-based mechanisms that influence cell division. Current projects involve centrosome regulators, kinase/phosphatase pathways, protein degradation, RNA-binding proteins, and related genetic pathways.
The selected student will receive research training and participate in an active project in the lab. This position is appropriate for a student seeking substantial research experience and thesis-based graduate training.
