Bright Line Investigations LLC is a licensed Wisconsin private investigation agency specializing in criminal defense investigations, surveillance, witness interviews, service of process, background investigations, and complex civil investigations. Our interns work directly alongside licensed investigators and attorneys on active cases, providing meaningful, real-world investigative experience beyond a traditional office internship.

This internship is designed for students seeking practical investigative experience while preparing for careers in criminal justice, law, investigations, and related professions.

Academic Internship Credit

Preference will be given to students who are completing this internship for academic or field experience credit through an accredited college or university.

Applicants seeking academic credit should be prepared to provide:

  • Internship coordinator or faculty advisor contact information
  • Internship syllabus or learning objectives (if applicable)
  • Required university paperwork
  • Midterm and/or final evaluation forms required by their institution

Internship Responsibilities

This is a hands-on field internship, not solely an office-based position.

Performance Evaluations

Interns will receive ongoing feedback and performance evaluations throughout the internship. Students completing the internship for academic credit may have evaluations shared with their educational institution as required.

Interns are expected to maintain professional standards throughout the internship. Failure to maintain professionalism, reliability, or consistent communication may result in dismissal from the program.

Schedule & Availability

Investigative work is client-driven and assignments frequently change based on operational needs.

Applicants should have availability for:

  • Morning assignments
  • Afternoon assignments
  • Evening assignments
  • Occasional weekends
  • Regional travel throughout Wisconsin
  • Occasional travel to neighboring states

Assignments may occur with limited notice. Flexibility and dependable communication are essential.

Applicants should possess:

  • Current enrollment in an accredited college or university or a demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in investigations or the legal field
