About KinnectCare

KinnectCare is building the health platform for diaspora families, the millions of people raising their lives in one country while their parents grow old in another. We turn the ordinary video calls families already make with aging parents into early wellness signals, unify medical records across borders, and keep the whole family and their clinicians on one shared timeline.

We're pre-seed and building toward launch, with 250 families on the waitlist and pilot corridors live across the US, India, the Philippines, Nigeria, and the UK. Both founders are living this problem in real time, caring for their own parents abroad.

The Role

You will build the product, not tickets in someone else's plan. The product. This is the job for someone who wants to write the code that takes KinnectCare from prototype to something families trust with the people they love. One week you are shipping a feature end-to-end, frontend to backend. The next you are wiring up the pipeline that turns a video call into a wellness signal, hardening how we store health data across borders, or ripping out something that isn't working and rebuilding it right. You will ship fast, own what you build, and see it in real families' hands within days, not quarters. You will own real surface area. You will be trusted before you feel ready. That is the point.

What you'll do

• Ship features end-to-end across the stack: frontend, backend, and the infrastructure underneath.
• Build and integrate the pipeline that turns everyday video calls into early wellness signals.
• Design the systems that ingest, secure, and unify health records across countries, languages, and formats.
• Make pragmatic build-versus-buy calls that get us to launch fast without burying us in tech debt.
• Treat security and privacy as first-class from day one, this is sensitive health data for real families.
• Move quickly with real users: ship, learn, and iterate in tight loops with founders and design.
• Do the unglamorous work that makes everything else possible. No task is beneath anyone here.

What we're looking for

• Strong engineer who ships, you've built and shipped real software and can point to what you owned
• Full-stack range, comfortable across a modern web and/or mobile stack and a cloud backend
• Fast and pragmatic, you'd rather ship, learn, and iterate than gold-plate in isolation
• Sound instincts for security and handling sensitive data
• Resourceful and self-directed, you figure it out rather than wait to be told
• Comfortable with ambiguity and constant context-switching, no playbook required
• Genuine care for the mission, bonus if you've lived the cross-border caregiving experience yourself

Nice to have

• Experience integrating or deploying AI/ML in a real product
• Background in computer vision, speech/audio processing, or multimodal signal work
• Familiarity with health tech, health data standards, or compliance (HIPAA)
• Early-stage or founding-engineer experience

A note on Stage and Compensation

We're currently at the pre-seed stage, so we want to be transparent that this position is unpaid for now. We'll be upfront about the tradeoffs of joining this early, while looking for someone who's excited by the opportunity to build with us from the ground floor.
