About MACH BD
MACH BD is a Metro Detroit-based business development and go-to-market consulting firm specializing in the automotive and connected mobility industries. We work with innovative technology companies to identify new business opportunities, develop relationships with automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, and accelerate growth in the North American market.
Our work spans automotive technology, connected services, software-defined vehicles, digital cockpit, in-vehicle entertainment, and emerging mobility solutions.
The Opportunity
MACH BD is looking for a motivated business student to join us as a Business Development & Automotive Technology Intern.
This is an opportunity to gain real-world experience in B2B sales, business development, market research, automotive technology, and executive-level business development. The intern will work directly with the founder and gain exposure to how technology companies build relationships and pursue business with major automotive organizations.
This role is ideal for a student who is curious, highly organized, comfortable communicating with professionals, and interested in the intersection of business, technology, and the automotive industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Research automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, technology companies, and potential business partners
- Identify and research potential customers and business opportunities
- Build and maintain prospect lists and CRM data
- Conduct market and competitive research
- Research key executives and decision-makers at automotive companies
- Assist with LinkedIn and email outreach campaigns
- Help prepare for customer and prospect meetings
- Track business development activity, follow-ups, and next steps
- Assist in creating presentations, company profiles, and sales materials
- Monitor automotive industry news, technology trends, and competitive developments
- Support lead generation and pipeline development
- Help organize meeting notes and maintain business development records
- Participate in selected business meetings and industry events as appropriate

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is someone who is smart, resourceful, proactive, and naturally curious. You don’t need to know everything about the automotive industry. We are looking for someone who can learn quickly, ask good questions, conduct thoughtful research, communicate professionally, and take ownership of assigned projects.
This internship is designed for a student who wants to gain meaningful experience—not simply complete administrative tasks. You will have the opportunity to see how business development works from the inside and contribute to real projects involving the automotive and technology industries.
