Systems Engineer
Interested in becoming a Systems Engineer? NSWCDD is looking for early-career engineers who want to learn how large, complex defense systems are designed, integrated, and delivered to the Fleet.
You'll work alongside experienced systems engineers to learn how engineering requirements are developed, how system interfaces are managed, and how software and hardware teams work together to deliver mission-critical capabilities.
This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates who enjoy solving technical problems while working across multiple engineering disciplines.
What You'll Do
- Assist with the development of system requirements and engineering documentation.
- Support requirements analysis and requirements traceability throughout the engineering lifecycle.
- Learn how software, hardware, and external systems interact through interface documentation and systems integration activities.
- Participate in engineering reviews and technical meetings.
- Support testing, verification, and validation of system capabilities.
- Collaborate with software engineers, systems engineers, test engineers, and Navy program offices.
- Contribute to technical reports, presentations, and engineering recommendations.
- Receive mentorship from experienced systems engineers while developing technical expertise.
Desired Qualifications

- Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
