Health and Safety Co-op

HEALTH AND SAFETY CO-OP (US)

Job Summary

 

Reporting to the Health and Safety Specialist, the main responsibility of the Health & Safety Co-op will be to support and promote Health and Safety initiatives to ensure the Health & Safety of our team members.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

• Learn and gain an understanding of the Health and Safety program at FGF Brands

• Support workplace inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and help prevent injuries in the workplace

• Understand and use the 5WHY analysis to determine root cause

• Participate in Safety Committee meetings and gain an understanding of their role in supporting a strong safety culture

• Support hearing conservation initiatives, including the administration and tracking of audiogram records

• Support new team member orientation and health & safety training activities

• Help organize and maintain training documentation and records to ensure compliance

 

Key Qualifications

 

• Post-secondary education in Health & Safety, Sciences, Public Health or related field

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Forms

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to collaborate with various departments to complete tasks and support safety initiatives

• Self-starter with a proactive, go-getter attitude and eagerness to learn

• Spanish-speaking ability is considered an asset

• Confident, energetic, and comfortable engaging with employees in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

• License and Access to vehicle is preferred – travel is required between sites
