Junior .NET Developer

Position Overview:

We are looking for a Junior .NET Application Developer to join our team and support the development and maintenance of our enterprise applications. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate who has a strong academic foundation in computer science and is eager to grow their skills in real-world, production-level software development. You will work alongside experienced developers to learn our application architecture, contribute to new features, and help ensure system reliability.

 

Location:

Onsite in Lynchburg, VA in our secured facility. We can provide relocation benefits to the right candidate!

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and maintaining features within large .NET applications
  • Work with VB.Net, C#, ASP.NET Core / .NET 6+, or .NET Framework
  • Write and maintain basic SQL queries and stored procedures
  • Participate in troubleshooting and resolving software issues with support from senior team members
  • Help prepare and update technical documentation
  • Collaborate with the development team to understand requirements, existing logic, and best practices
  • Take part in code reviews to learn and apply feedback
  • Support continual improvement initiatives within the team

 

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Academic, internship, or professional work experience in .NET development (VB.Net, C#, ASP.NET Core, or .NET Framework).
  • Basic understanding of SQL (i.e., writing queries and joins).
  • Solid foundational knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Familiarity with layered architecture and separation of concerns from coursework or projects.
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and work within large, established codebases.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, or individually, follow directions, and ask clarifying questions as needed.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.

 

Preferred Additional Qualifications

  • Academic or internship experience/exposure to Entity Framework or similar ORM tools.
  • Basic knowledge of Oracle or SQL Server environments
  • Experience with academic or internship projects involving .NET applications
  • Understanding of common design principles from coursework
