Overview:

BookaBooth is seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Data Automation Intern to help build automated systems that collect, organize, and maintain data on work-friendly cafés and coworking locations across the United States. Interns will develop automated workflows to gather information from multiple online sources, reducing manual research while ensuring our database remains accurate and up to date.

This internship provides hands-on experience with web data collection, automation tools, APIs, spreadsheets, and workflow optimization while contributing to the growth of BookaBooth's café database. It is ideal for students interested in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Software Engineering, Automation, or related fields. Automation of repetitive data collection and ETL-style workflows is a common practice in modern data operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain automated workflows to collect café and coworking data from online sources.
  • Develop scripts and automation tools to reduce repetitive manual research.
  • Extract, clean, and organize data from websites, APIs, spreadsheets, and other digital sources.
  • Monitor automated processes and troubleshoot errors to ensure reliable data collection.
  • Validate and improve data quality by identifying duplicates, missing information, and inconsistencies.
  • Collaborate with the software and research teams to improve data collection efficiency.
  • Document automation processes and recommend workflow improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Interest in automation, web scraping, APIs, or data engineering.
  • Familiarity with Python, JavaScript, or another programming language is preferred.
  • Experience with spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets) and basic data organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to learn new tools and technologies quickly.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote startup environment.
