About Quikturn

Quikturn is the AI-native platform investment bankers, consultants, finance teams, and corporate teams use to build PowerPoint decks. We deliver millions of company logos, deal data, and market and company intelligence through a web app, a native PowerPoint add-in, and an API as a Service (APIaaS).

Our AI deck engine builds complete, draft-ready market maps, sector research reports, pitch decks, and deal materials such as CIPs, CIMs, and teasers in minutes. The same intelligence layer covers millions of companies, deals, and investors—replacing much of the manual analyst work behind finding information, organizing it, and turning it into a presentation.

We are a small founding team moving quickly and closing our first enterprise deals. Interns here work as engineers: they own real product areas, ship production work, receive direct feedback and code review, and work closely with the founders on what should be built and why.

The role

This is a truly full-stack role. You may start with a workflow in React or inside PowerPoint, then follow it through the API, business logic, database, background jobs, search layer, storage, and production telemetry. You will work wherever the product problem leads. Some projects will be interface-heavy; others will require more backend and data work than frontend work.

What you may own and build

• AI-assisted deck workflows: Build the product experience around generating market maps, sector research, pitch decks, CIPs, CIMs, teasers, and other deal materials—from the initial query through generation progress, editing, review, and PowerPoint output.
• Web product experiences: Improve the React web platform used to search companies and logos, organize research, manage slides, collaborate, and prepare finished materials.
• Native PowerPoint workflows: Build inside our native PowerPoint add-in so users can search, generate, arrange, and insert content without leaving the deck they are working in.
• Backend product logic: Design or extend APIs, business rules, validation, permissions, and data contracts used by the web app, add-in, and API customers.
• Data and asynchronous workflows: Shape relational data models and long-running processes when a feature needs persistence, generation, indexing, or other work beyond a request-response cycle.
• Presentation automation: Work on slide workspaces, tombstones, reusable templates, logo layouts, chart and content rendering, PowerPoint export, and direct insertion into existing slides.
• Collaboration and enterprise workflows: Help teams share work, manage organization-level resources, preserve permissions, and trust that the correct version of a deck or template is being used.
• Product quality: Improve accessibility, responsiveness, loading and error states, analytics, and the small interaction details that separate a functional tool from one professionals rely on every day.

What you will do

• Work directly with the founders to turn a customer problem into a clear product scope.
• Design and implement the complete solution across the frontend, backend, and data layer.
• Make pragmatic decisions about what belongs in the browser, the API, a background job, or the database.
• Debug across interfaces, APIs, data, and asynchronous workflows instead of stopping at the first visible symptom.
• Write maintainable code, tests for important behavior, and useful instrumentation for the workflows you ship.
• Use autonomous developer agents such as Claude Code to move faster: define the work precisely, direct implementation, review the result carefully, and remain accountable for what reaches production.
• Participate in code review and explain the product and technical tradeoffs behind your decisions.

Technology

We work primarily with TypeScript, React, and Node.js, supported by SQL databases, Office.js, and Cloudflare services. Exact-stack experience is useful but not required; we care more about strong web fundamentals, evidence that you can finish real projects, and the ability to learn an unfamiliar part of the system without guessing.

What we are looking for

• You are a current undergraduate student.
• You have built at least one real application or feature with both a frontend and a backend. Coursework counts if the result actually worked and you can explain your decisions.
• You are comfortable with JavaScript or TypeScript and a component-based frontend framework such as React.
• You understand the basics of HTTP APIs, relational databases, authentication, and asynchronous work.
• You care about the user experience, not only whether the code compiles.
• You read documentation, reproduce problems, and debug carefully before proposing a fix.
• You communicate clearly and are comfortable asking questions, defending a decision, and changing your mind when the evidence points elsewhere.

Helpful, not required

• Experience building both browser and server-side applications.
• Exposure to Office Add-ins, PowerPoint automation, or constrained webview environments.
• Experience building drag-and-drop, canvas, editor, or other interaction-heavy interfaces.
• Familiarity with search, retrieval, data visualization, or generative product experiences.
• Experience directing AI coding agents on work you later reviewed, tested, and shipped.
