Technology, Automation & Workflow Internship Role
Funktasy – Magazine & Music Group is looking for technology-minded individuals interested in exploring how automation, artificial intelligence, workflow design, software integrations, and data can improve the operations of a growing entertainment and media company.
The objective is simple: find smarter ways for Funktasy to work.
As part of the Technology, Automation & Workflow team, you will examine existing processes across Funktasy Magazine, Funktasy Music Group, A&R, marketing, social media, editorial, administration, and management to identify opportunities to increase efficiency, improve communication, reduce repetitive work, and create scalable systems.
This is a hands-on and experimental internship focused on researching, designing, testing, documenting, and improving real-world business systems rather than simply observing existing processes.
Throughout the internship, you’ll gain practical experience with workflow automation, AI tools, software integrations, process design, data analytics, business systems, and digital transformation within a growing entertainment and media company.
Your Responsibilities
- Analyze existing workflows across Funktasy departments and identify opportunities for automation, integration, simplification, and process improvement.
- Develop and improve workflows within ClickUp and other project-management or productivity platforms.
- Create automated task assignments, dependencies, status changes, completion sequences, deadlines, and staff reminder systems.
- Explore and implement connections between platforms using Zapier, Make, APIs, webhooks, or other integration tools, where appropriate.
- Design workflow systems for editorial production, including writing, media collection, editing, proofreading, approval, and publication.
- Improve workflows supporting A&R, marketing, social media, music operations, administration, and other company departments.
- Develop systems for collecting, organizing, maintaining, and sharing company and client data.
- Explore integrations between marketing databases, contacts, campaigns, existing clients, and internal business systems.
- Research opportunities to automate internal company updates, notifications, reporting, and communications.
- Research systems capable of monitoring relevant entertainment, music, technology, and industry developments and distributing useful information internally.
- Create dashboards, charts, reports, and visual summaries that help communicate company activity, performance, and growth.
- Explore practical applications of artificial intelligence, AI-assisted reporting, forecasting, data analysis, and business intelligence.
- Assist with collecting and organizing departmental data for internal and quarterly company reports.
- Develop methods for improving information sharing and coordination between departments.
- Research emerging AI, automation, workflow, productivity, and business technologies that could benefit Funktasy.
- Document newly developed workflows, systems, and procedures so they can be understood, maintained, and improved by staff.
- Test automation systems and workflows before broader implementation and help identify errors, limitations, or opportunities for improvement.
- Research how media, entertainment, technology, and other scalable companies use automation, data, integrations, and operational systems.
- Contribute to special technology, automation, data, and innovation projects developed throughout the internship.
