Overview:
EdgeBrook Farm is a New Jersey farm project providing interns with the opportunity to contribute to the development and improvement of a real agricultural operation. EdgeBrook Farm is seeking motivated candidates for the Agricultural Systems Technology Internship [NJ Farm Project] to support projects involving farm systems, agricultural equipment, technology integration, production processes, and operational efficiency.
This internship provides practical experience understanding how equipment, technology, infrastructure, and agricultural processes work together within a modern farm operation. Participants will have opportunities to evaluate existing systems, research potential improvements, collect operational data, and contribute to projects focused on improving productivity and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with evaluating agricultural systems, equipment, and operational processes.
- Support projects involving farm machinery, irrigation systems, infrastructure, and agricultural technology.
- Help identify opportunities to improve efficiency across farm systems and workflows.
- Assist with collecting, organizing, and analyzing data related to farm operations and equipment performance.
- Research agricultural systems technologies and industry best practices.
- Support the evaluation and integration of new equipment and technologies.
- Help document agricultural processes, equipment usage, and system performance.
- Assist with identifying opportunities for automation and process improvement.
- Prepare research summaries, technical documentation, and project reports.
- Collaborate with project leadership and other interns on agricultural systems technology initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Agricultural Systems Technology, Agricultural Systems Management, Agricultural Engineering Technology, Agricultural Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Interest in agriculture, farm systems, agricultural equipment, technology, or operations.
- Strong analytical, technical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Interest in understanding how equipment, technology, and agricultural processes work together.
- Familiarity with agricultural machinery, automation, data analysis, CAD, or technical software is a plus.
- Knowledge of irrigation, production systems, farm operations, or equipment management is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
