Campus Recreation Intern - Special Projects
Job Summary:
The Campus Recreation Intern will gain comprehensive administrative and programmatic experience across various departmental areas. They will assist professional staff with tasks and projects during their internship, focusing on specific interests as needed throughout the academic year. Additionally, the intern may coordinate student employees, programs, and services within the departmental structure. Reporting to the Director of Campus Recreation, they will collaborate closely with other professional staff.
Responsibilities:
This position will work with multiple departments within Campus Recreation, similar tasks may include, but are not limited to:
Facilities and Operations
- Answer questions for students, faculty, staff, and the community by phone or in-person.
- Providing support to the front desk staff, as needed
- Report and communicate facility issues or concerns.
- Educate and enforce policies and procedures.
- Work with facilities and operations staff on other tasks and projects as needed.
Programs
- Assist with various programs and events.
- Brainstorm ideas and provide feedback for programs and events.
- Report any program or event related issues or concerns.
- Work with programs staff on other various tasks and projects.
- Identifying budget for program supplies and staffing
Marketing
- Assisting the Marketing Team with tabling efforts, as needed
- Brainstorming ideas for engaging content with Marketing Team for all social media platforms
- Collaborate with other departments, within Campus Recreation and the university, to promote events.
Office/Day-to-Day Duties
- Researching and benchmarking related to recreational pursuits and insights
- Copying, filing, notetaking and other daily tasks in the office
- Contacting vendors for quotes or to gather information by phone, email, or in-person.
- Complete other various office tasks at the request of the Director.

Requirements:
- Graduate level students are strongly preferred
- Current FAU student and enrolled in a minimum of 3 credits.
- Currently have a GPA of 2.5 or greater
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Must be willing to work some early mornings, late nights, and weekends.
- Exhibit strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Self-starter, who is comfortable working independently and within a team.
- CPR/AED and First Aid Certification are preferred
