Social Media Intern

Social Media & Content Intern

About GoSkyHy

GoSkyHy is a social network for travelers, live on iOS, Android, and web. We use social media to get people off social media: members meet travelers around them over live video, gather at events, do experiences together, and keep friendships alive across borders and years. We're an early-stage, internationally distributed team preparing for our marketplace launch.

The role

You'll own the voice of GoSkyHy across our social channels — writing, filming, editing, and shipping content that makes people want to travel and meet each other. This is a hands-on role with real ownership. What you make goes live, and you'll see how it performs.

You'll work directly with the founder and a small international team, with a weekly one-to-one to review your work and plan the next sprint.

What you'll do

  • Plan and produce short-form video and static content for TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts
  • Write copy that sounds like a person, not a brand — captions, hooks, community posts
  • Build and maintain a content calendar tied to our launch milestones
  • Work with travel creators and members to source and edit user-generated content
  • Track what performs, report on it weekly, and adjust what we make next
  • Contribute ideas in weekly team sessions — we want your taste, not just your hands

Skills we're looking for

Essential

  • Short-form video editing (CapCut, Premiere, Final Cut, or similar)
  • Strong written English and an ear for tone
  • Working knowledge of TikTok and Instagram as a creator, not just a viewer
  • Comfort being on camera, or a clear plan for making content without being on it
  • Self-direction — we'll set the goal, you'll shape the approach

Nice to have

  • Canva, Figma, or Photoshop
  • Experience running a channel or account of your own, at any scale
  • A second language
  • Personal travel experience you can draw on

Minimum requirements

  • Currently enrolled at a university, in any year and any subject
  • Available 10 hours per week for a minimum of 12 weeks
  • Reliable internet and the ability to join a weekly video call
  • Able to show a portfolio, a personal account, or a short sample of work you've made

What you get

  • $30 USD per hour
  • Weekly one-to-one mentorship with the founder
  • A named supervisor, structured induction, and written learning objectives
  • A mid-point review and a written end-of-internship evaluation
  • Full support for academic credit, including any paperwork your university requires
  • Published work you can put in a portfolio, with attribution

Logistics

Remote, worldwide. Part-time, 10 hours per week, flexible around your timetable. Minimum 12 weeks, with start dates arranged around your academic calendar.
