Video Editing & Digital Marketing Internship -- Remote Position

Fantasy Escape Games (recently rebranded to Vortex Events: Virtual Team Adventures) is an online team building and games company looking to hire an innovative Video Editing Intern, with the opportunity for advancement, who will assist in crafting marketing videos and game trailers, marketing for our current virtual games, future team training events, and the brand as a whole. Fantasy Escape Games opened August 2020 and maintains a fun, collaborative environment.

The Video Editing & Digital Marketing Intern will assist on several initiatives. Based on the Digital Marketing Intern’s interests and strengths, they will be assigned specific tasks in alignment with their long-term career goals. An important part of the intern’s responsibilities will assist in scripting, video editing, and more for our newest escape rooms and other virtual games. Past intern projects include trailers for our games like Deadly Dining and Space Defenders.

The Video Editing & Digital Marketing Intern will work with both a small team and independently to create videos about our brand and our online, live-streamed events, such as murder mysteries and escape room experiences, as we re-envision our web and digital presence. The intern will have the opportunity both to participate in strategic discussions, pitching ideas, as well as implement those strategies. 

This role is ideal for you if you are excited about a variety of aspects of video production and editing. You like brainstorming with a small team, but working primarily independently to bring a vision to life. You have strong attention to detail, value high quality, and enjoy building content to resonates with a specific customer base.  You’re looking to both participate in higher level discussions and actively implement ideas, seeing first-hand the impact of your work. Ideally, you are excited about the idea of putting your skills into practice with a larger amount of input and responsibility, and are excited to try new techniques. You’re excited to continue learning and growing within the entertainment industry or B2B space. 

Internship, club, volunteer, or classroom experience in video editing and marketing digital professional services, B2B marketing, theatre, games, and/or events is a plus but not required. 

The Intern will be completely remote, and may have flexible hours. A paid stipend or school credit will be provided. The Video Editing Intern may have a flexible start date between August-September and a flexible end date between December-January with possible extension into the winter semester, to be discussed before onboarding.

Responsibilities:

• Be prompt to meetings and maintain a quality internet connection in an environment without other background noise 

• Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills

• Provide and assist with video script copy materials

• Provide and assist with implementation creating video content 

• Participate in strategic discussions

• Assist in implementation of new and ongoing video editing digital marketing initiatives 

• Collaborate with a small team or contractors on digital projects

• Ability to work effectively while remote, both independently and in small teams

• Other duties as assigned
