A Co-op experience at Coalmont offers longer-term immersion than a summer internship. You'll become an integrated member of our engineering team, working on projects from initial design through testing, implementation, and commissioning. What You'll Do

Your Co-op Experience Will Include

• Designing mechanical systems and equipment in SolidWorks or Inventor.
• Applying fits/tolerances, weldment design, and design for manufacturability.
• Producing 2D/3D shop drawings and collaborating with fabrication teams.
• Supporting assembly, testing, and field commissioning.
• Updating designs to “as-built” state and helping create customer manuals.

What We're Looking For

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
• Curiosity, initiative, and a hands-on learning mindset.
• Reliability and the ability to manage tasks without constant direction.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred (not required)

• Familiarity with SolidWorks, Inventor, or other CAD tools.
• Coursework or lab experience in simulation or FEA.
• Exposure to manufacturing or shop practices.
• Examples of leadership, teamwork, or technical projects.
