Overview:

This internship is for a project which is about our founder of ULimo, John Snee, and his potential mayoral candidacy for the city of New York.

The International Relations Internship [Project: John Snee NYC Mayoral Candidacy] provides students with the opportunity to gain practical experience researching international affairs, diplomacy, foreign policy, global issues, and their connections to New York City. Interns will support research and project activities while gaining exposure to international topics that may affect a major global city and its communities.

This internship is designed for students interested in international relations, political science, diplomacy, foreign policy, global affairs, and government. Interns will have opportunities to apply concepts from their coursework to a real-world political project while developing research, communication, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities:

Research international affairs, foreign policy, diplomacy, and global political developments.

Examine international issues that may have relevance to New York City and its diverse communities.

Research relationships between local government and international communities, organizations, and initiatives.

Monitor and summarize important global political and economic developments.

Research international organizations, governments, policies, and diplomatic initiatives.

Assist with preparing research summaries, briefing materials, reports, and other project documents.

Review publicly available reports, policy documents, international research, and government information.

Help organize information related to international affairs, global policy, and political developments.

Support research into issues involving immigration, international communities, global cities, and cross-cultural engagement where relevant to the project.

Collaborate with project leadership and other interns on international relations and political research initiatives.

Qualifications:

Currently pursuing or recently completed coursework or a degree in Political Science, International Relations, or a closely related field.

Interest in international affairs, diplomacy, foreign policy, government, and global political issues.

Strong research, analytical, written communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to evaluate information from multiple sources and summarize findings clearly.

Familiarity with international political systems, foreign policy, or international organizations is a plus.

Experience with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, research databases, or similar tools is a plus.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively on research and project assignments.

Interest in how international issues and global affairs relate to New York City is a plus.
