Data Service Management - Lead Information Systems Technologist

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is seeking a motivated, technically curious, and creative individual to join our Data Service Management team. As a Lead Information System Technologist, you will perform advanced work in DataMart and Interface development, maintenance, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation. Responsibilities are performed under general supervision.

 

Responsibilities - What you’ll do

 

What you’ll do:   

  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain ETL applications using Informatica, Linux scripting, SQL, and Oracle/SQL Server, and perform lead responsibilities across these same technical areas.
  • Oversees and monitors Data Warehouse and MOVERS technical operations, ensuring reliable interface and ETL load activity, diagnosing and resolving issues, optimizing performance, and guiding MOVERS‑related ETL standards and development.
  • Research and evaluate new technologies and industry trends to enhance data integration, database connectivity, and system interactions across internal and external platforms.
  • Performs lead worker responsibilities, which may include providing general instruction, assigning and reviewing work, providing guidance and instruction in the proper and most efficient methods of accomplishing tasks, and providing input to the direct supervisor on staffing decisions and performance management.  Strong verbal and electronic communication skills are essential.  
  • Coordinates or prepares system documentation which includes user manuals, operations, problem diagnosis and resolution, testing, partner/customer accountability plans, and business procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree: Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, AND four years of increasingly responsible professional experience in positions related to information systems, OR
  • Associate’s Degree: Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, AND six years of increasingly responsible professional experience in positions related to information systems, OR
  • Eight years of increasingly responsible professional experience in positions related to information systems.

 

Special Working Conditions:

  • Job requires occasional, statewide, overnight travel.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Informatica, Linux scripting, and Oracle/SQL Server platforms.
  • Solid SQL and data modeling skills for data validation and troubleshooting.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities to address data‑related challenges.
  • Effective collaboration skills when working with team members and end users.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
