Reporting Accountant Intern
We are in search of Reporting Accountant Interns to join our team in the Finance-Sponsored Programs office. This is an exciting opportunity for business majors interested in not-for-profit and governmental accounting. The Reporting Area of Sponsored Programs prepares approximately 9,000 reports annually while ensuring compliance with sponsor guidelines. Employees in this role will gain experience preparing income statements, training in fund accounting, and understanding of the University financial systems.
You should be pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or related field and complete the intermediate accounting course with a 3.0 GPA or higher. You should enjoy working in an organization that is transactional in nature and has many opportunities for growth. You have experience of providing customer service while managing a high workload. You can understand the details of income statement reporting, are organized, and can use spreadsheet software to analyze data.
You will be responsible for post-award accounting of grants and contracts. You will provide procedure interpretation to university departments and help prepare reports for federal and sponsoring agencies.
