Are you passionate about cancer prevention, obesity research, and community-engaged science? The University of Texas MD Anderson Acres Homes Cancer Prevention Collaboration is seeking applicants for a funded Postdoctoral Fellowship in Obesity-Related Cancer Prevention Research.

This unique training opportunity prepares future leaders to address obesity-related cancers through research, intervention development, and community partnerships focused on populations facing persistent economic and health challenges.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct mentored research with experts in cancer prevention and population sciences.
  • Gain hands-on experience working with community partners.
  • Learn research methods used to design and evaluate interventions that address obesity-related cancers.
  • Develop skills in behavioral science, epidemiology, health promotion, health policy, biostatistics, economics, communication, and related disciplines.
  • Build a strong foundation for a career in cancer prevention and obesity-related cancer research.

Fellowship Support

  • Salary starting at $64,000 per year, based on experience
  • Up to one year of full-time support

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Hold (or complete before fellowship start) a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree.
  • Have training in public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, behavioral or social sciences, health promotion, economics, communication, health services research, health policy, or a related field.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to a career in cancer prevention and obesity-related cancer research.
  • Reside in Texas at the start of the fellowship.
  • Be eligible regardless of citizenship status (U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and visa holders are welcome to apply).

Fellowship Details

  • Location: MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX
  • Appointment: Up to one year
  • Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week)
  • Format: On-campus/hybrid, depending on mentor approval
