SECS Micro-Intern: Academic Research
Position is part of the Micro-internship program in the School of Engineering and Computer Science
Must be Freshman or Sophomore Standing
- The role will include a research project in the Mechanical Engineering Department.
- This project will develop an interpretable energy management strategy for a Series Electric-Hydraulic Hybrid Vehicle (SEHHV) by extracting simple control rules from existing Dynamic Programming (DP) results using machine-learning-based shallow decision trees.
- The student will use MATLAB to train and evaluate the AI-based decision model and compare its performance with the original optimal DP policy.
