Job Purpose

The BorgWarner Arden campus offers two world class technical centers and a cutting-edge manufacturing facility that designs and produces turbos, fan, and fan drive components for the automotive industry. The Arden campus offers a multitude of career opportunities and is in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina.

 

Join a dynamic Materials Management team within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience managing the full program lifecycle, with a focus on inventory optimization, excess & obsolete (E&O) disposition, and cross-functional supply chain collaboration.

 

This position is ideal for students looking to apply analytical skills to real-world supply chain challenges while working closely with engineering, operations, and suppliers.

 

Key Responsibilities

Manage excess and obsolete inventory: Analyze inventory data to identify E&O risks and support development and execution of disposition plans.

Execute change management: Create and process change cases to obsolete finished goods and materials, and track approvals to ensure timely completion.

Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Scheduling, and Logistics to align production quantities, material flow, and execution.

Engage with suppliers: Develop part-specific disposition plans, including return, rework, or usage options, and align on timing, quantities, and logistics.

Analyze and report data: Maintain tracking tools and dashboards for E&O and lifecycle activities, and provide summaries and insights to support decision-making.

Support material flow execution: Assist with storage, transfer, and shipment planning while ensuring system accuracy aligns with physical inventory movements.

 

What we are looking for

Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field

Strong analytical and organizational skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; data analysis experience preferred

Effective communication and strong follow-up skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred experience:

Exposure to inventory management, MRP, or manufacturing operations

Experience with SAP or ERP systems

Interest in supply chain optimization and continuous improvement
