Junior Business Systems Analyst

Job Description

• Analyze complex business and technical problems, evaluate potential options, develop solutions, and communicate recommendations clearly to stakeholders, developers, testers, and end users at various organizational levels.
• Serve as a liaison between business units and technology subject matter experts in support of the Transactions Monitoring project.
• Collaborate with business and IT subject matter experts to gather and validate information regarding application functionality, data structures, business processes, and process flows.
• Analyze, document, and maintain application functionality, data requirements, and business process flows using established templates or appropriate fit-for-purpose documentation formats.
• Participate in integration design activities and provide detailed business requirements, functional specifications, and supporting documentation as needed.
• Gather, analyze, and document reporting requirements from system stakeholders and translate them into actionable reporting specifications.
• Oversee the acquisition, analysis, organization, and dissemination of subject matter knowledge to support business and technology initiatives.
• Conduct high-level business analysis involving complex business requirements, workflows, processes, and system capabilities.
• Evaluate, design, and recommend improvements to business processes to enhance operational effectiveness, efficiency, and alignment with business and technology objectives.
• Leverage business systems, applications, and data to identify and resolve operational issues in an effective and efficient manner.
• Identify industry and organizational best practices and recommend improvements to existing processes, procedures, systems, and methodologies.
• Evaluate and estimate the costs, benefits, risks, and potential return on investment of alternative solutions and business initiatives.
• Develop data-driven recommendations to address business operations, process, and system-related challenges.
• Analyze and document business processes, performance metrics, and operational requirements to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout requirements gathering, analysis, design, testing, implementation, and process improvement activities.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, interpret, and communicate large and complex datasets with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong knowledge of reporting and business intelligence tools, such as BusinessObjects, as well as databases and query languages, including SQL.
• Experience with programming, data integration, or transformation technologies, including XML, JavaScript, ETL frameworks, or related technologies.
• Knowledge of statistical concepts and experience using analytical and statistical tools such as Microsoft Excel, SPSS, SAS, or similar platforms.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical and business concepts into clear and understandable requirements and recommendations.
• Ability to work effectively with business stakeholders, technology teams, developers, testers, and subject matter experts in a cross-functional environment.
