About Humaximus
Humaximus is an early-stage health technology startup building an AI execution layer that helps healthcare and community organizations complete patient care across multiple organizations in real time.

 

Internship Overview
Humaximus is looking for a Software Development Intern to work directly in our production codebase as we prepare for pilot partnerships. This isn't a side project or a simulated assignment — you'll be building real features in our actual product (a Next.js/TypeScript application) alongside our engineering team, and your work will ship.

 

Responsibilities
Intern responsibilities may include:

Build and ship frontend features in React/Next.js
Support backend/API work in Node.js, connected to a real database
Test product workflows, write test cases, and track down bugs in an existing codebase
Support database, API, or integration-related work
Assist with technical documentation
Research AI/LLM tools or healthcare technology standards relevant to the platform
Work directly with the founder and engineering team to prepare the platform for pilots


Qualifications
Strong candidates should be:

Currently enrolled in a college or university program in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
Comfortable building with React, ideally with some exposure to Next.js
Comfortable with TypeScript, or coming from strong JavaScript and ready to pick it up fast
Have touched backend/API work (Node.js or similar) and a relational database (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar) — coursework or personal projects count
Able to read and work inside an existing codebase, not just build from a blank file
Detail-oriented, reliable, and communicates clearly when blocked instead of guessing


Helpful, Not Required

Interest in healthcare, privacy, or regulated data (HIPAA, FHIR, HL7, or similar)
Experience with Tailwind CSS or a component library
AI/LLM API experience (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini)
A shipped side project, hackathon build, or open-source contribution you can point to on GitHub


Internship Details

Location: United States only
Work Style: Remote
Duration: October 5 – December 31, 2026 (about 12 weeks)
Time Commitment: 20 hours per week
Compensation: $500/month stipend, paid monthly ($1,500 total over the internship)
Company Stage: Early-stage startup preparing for MVP, then pilot launch
