Entry-Level Federal Contract Specialist

We are seeking a recent bachelor’s degree graduate who is interested in building a career in federal contracting, procurement, and acquisition. This entry-level position provides hands-on experience supporting federal acquisition activities while working alongside experienced acquisition and contracting professionals.

You will receive guidance and practical experience in areas such as the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), acquisition planning, market research, federal procurement, solicitation development, proposal evaluation, and contract administration.

What You’ll Learn and Do

• Receive hands-on training and experience in federal acquisition, procurement, and contracting processes.
• Assist experienced acquisition professionals with acquisition planning, market research, and procurement activities.
• Learn to prepare and review acquisition documents, including Statements of Work (SOW), Performance Work Statements (PWS), Requests for Proposals (RFP), Requests for Quotations (RFQ), and related documentation.
• Assist with reviewing vendor quotations and proposals for completeness and compliance with solicitation requirements.
• Develop experience performing basic price/cost analysis and supporting proposal evaluation activities.
• Learn to research and apply the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), agency policies, and federal acquisition procedures.
• Prepare and maintain contract files, spreadsheets, reports, memoranda, and other acquisition documentation.
• Gain exposure to post-award contract administration, including contract modifications, deliverables, and related documentation.
• Compile and analyze acquisition, business, and financial information.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders while learning to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Recent bachelor’s degree graduate in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field
• No previous federal contracting experience required
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Interest in learning federal acquisition regulations, processes, and systems
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while receiving guidance and supervision
• Ability to attend required in-person training and scheduled onsite work in South Carolina

Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications are helpful but not required:

• Relevant coursework in accounting, finance, business law, procurement, economics, supply chain management, contract management, or related subjects
• Familiarity with federal contracting, government procurement, or the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
• Previous internship, academic, or professional experience involving contracts, purchasing, financial analysis, business operations, or government programs
• Demonstrated interest in developing a career in federal contracting, procurement, acquisition, or contract management
