HR Intern

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated HR Intern to join our team. This role will provide hands-on experience with general office administrative tasks. The Intern will play an important part in organizing paper documents to convert to electronic and support HR with other administrative tasks. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in learning how an office functions and operates while gaining practical skills in a professional environment.   

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Sort and organize employee HR files that are in paper format
  • Scan and upload paper files to an electronic database
  • Assigned the monthly Employees’ Birthday program by sending greeting cards and gift cards
  • Assigned the annual employee Holiday Gift Card program that includes ordering and distributing gift cards to approximately 800 employees
  • Place orders for flowers and memorial donations as needed
  • Provide other administrative support for the HR team as needed.   

 

Qualifications and Skills: 

  • High school diploma, currently pursuing a degree in business or communications or similar
  • Some experience working in an office environment
  • Clear understanding of confidentiality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Must have the ability to work as part of a team, including remote colleagues.
  • Solid analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with a focus on precedent and ethics.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.

  

Physical and Mental Demands:   Ability to lift and/or carry light weight (under 20 pounds), sit, stand, walk, reach, repetitive hand motions, hear, speak, maintain visual acuity, may experience frequent interruptions. Office environment with good working conditions.   Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and written), interpret, reason, read, understand verbal instructions, analyze, differentiate, memorize, coordinate, compile, instruct, and maintain emotional control.   

 

Location: 307 E. Court St., Flint MI   

 

Hours: Flexible during the hours of 7AM – 5PM. Dependent on school hours. Ideally, 15-25 hours per week.   

 

Pay: $16-$18 per hour based on experience.
