Electrical Engineering Controls Intern 2027

Taikisha USA Inc, a global leader in engineering and construction of industrial paint finishing systems, is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern. 

As an Electrical Engineering Intern, you will gain hands-on experience working on process systems used in automotive and industrial manufacturing facilities. You'll work alongside experienced engineers on real projects involving PLC programming, HMI development, electrical design and industrial networking.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with PLC and HMI programming.
• Support electrical control panel design and documentation. 
• Participate in control system testing and troubleshooting. 
• Develop and update engineering drawings, I/O lists, and project documentation. 
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, programmers, and project managers on active projects

Qualifications and contributions:

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field. 
• Completed sophomore year or higher. 
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills. 
• Interest in automation, manufacturing, or industrial controls.

Preferred Experience

• Coursework in PLCs, automation, controls, or robotics.
• Experience with engineering projects, robotics teams, Formula SAE, or other hands-on technical activities.

 Employment conditions

• This position is based in our corporate office located in Troy MI
• Core office hours are 7:30am- 4:30pm Monday – Friday
• This position may involve accompanying the Engineering Manager on domestic travel for the purpose of touring project sites, and meeting with team members, vendors, and/or clients.
• This is a paid non-exempt position. (Hourly wage, paid weekly)
• This position is eligible for health & welfare benefits, in accordance with the terms of each plan.

This is a temporary position, subject to the individual’s work authorization status and availability due to school schedule, as well as job performance.
