People & Experience Intern 2027

Location: Indianapolis, IN or Norfolk, VA. This role requires associates to be in-office 1 - 2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a commuting distance from an office.

The People & Experience Interns will be responsible for supporting our enterprise Human Resources organization. You’ll gain hands-on experience by being directly embedded within one of our core HR teams, with opportunities spanning areas such as Organization Effectiveness, Workforce Planning, People Strategy Partners (HRBPs), Talent Acquisition, Compensation and Benefits.
 

Depending on your placement, you may contribute to projects involving workforce insights, organizational effectiveness, talent strategies, employee experience, compensation and benefits, or HR technology and processes. Across these experiences, interns will have opportunities to use data, business insights, and project management skills to help solve people and organizational challenges within a purpose-driven healthcare organization.

Candidates will be considered for the summer internship program that runs from 17 May - 6 August 2027.

How You Will Make an Impact

• Gather, organize, analyze, and interpret workforce or business data to identify trends and support decision-making.
• Support process improvements, project execution, and data management across HR programs and systems.
• Leverage tools such as Excel, Workday, Power BI, Paradox, or similar HR and analytics platforms, depending on team assignment.
• Collaborate with HR leaders, business partners, and cross-functional stakeholders to advance projects and initiatives.
• Participate in bi-weekly knowledge shares with other HR interns and mentorship sessions with HR leaders and peers..

Minimum Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Business Analytics, Psychology, Organizational Development, Public Health, or a related discipline at an accredited college or university.
• Ability to work in a hybrid work environment in Indianapolis, IN or Norfolk, VA for the duration of the internship.

Preferred Skills

• Previous internship or relevant professional experience in Human Resources, business, analytics, consulting, project management, or a related field is extremely preferred
• Experience using data and analytics to identify trends, develop insights, or support business decisions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; exposure to data visualization or reporting tools such as Power BI is a plus.
• Experience coordinating projects, managing timelines and deliverables, or working across multiple stakeholders.

For candidates working in person or virtually in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $17.20 to $31.94 an hour.
