GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Maintenance Intern will support the maintenance department in improving equipment reliability, organization, and operational efficiency within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- This position will assist with data organization, equipment support activities, and continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance department.
- A key component of this role will involve supporting the organization and management of the plant’s maintenance spare parts inventory and tracking processes, utilizing the company’s internal MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) inventory and maintenance management system.
- The goal is to improve maintenance efficiency by ensuring that spare parts and maintenance resources are clearly identified, properly tracked, and easily accessible for technicians performing equipment repairs and preventive maintenance.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Assisting with the development and maintenance of a structured maintenance spare parts inventory system
- Identifying, cataloging, and organizing maintenance spare parts to improve accessibility and inventory accuracy
- Supporting the implementation of visual management and 5S practices within maintenance storage areas
- Helping ensure maintenance personnel can efficiently locate and utilize spare parts during equipment repairs and preventive maintenance activities
- Creating, updating, and closing maintenance work orders within the internal maintenance management system
- Maintaining accurate records of equipment assets, parts usage, and maintenance history
- Supporting inventory audits and identifying opportunities to improve spare parts management processes
- Working with maintenance technicians and leadership to improve maintenance system organization and efficiency
- Assisting with continuous improvement initiatives related to maintenance operations, equipment reliability, and workflow optimization
- Completing additional maintenance, organizational, or administrative tasks assigned to support plant
- operations
