Commitment: 5–15 hours per week
Format: Hybrid
Compensation: Paid hourly internship
About the role
We are looking for a creative, organized, and fast-moving Social & Creative Marketing Intern to support our team across creative strategy, social media, campaign development, and day-to-day marketing operations.
You’ll work closely with our lead account manager and wider team to help turn client goals into strong social-first creative. This role is a mix of creative strategy, social media, research, community management, and execution, with opportunities to work directly on real campaigns for a range of clients.
You’ll help develop creative briefs, research trends and audiences, identify strong content opportunities, and support the team in bringing ideas from strategy through execution. You’ll also help with the operational side of keeping campaigns organized and moving.
This is a great fit for someone who is highly online, naturally curious about why content works, and wants hands-on experience in a fast-moving creative marketing environment.
What you’ll do
Creative Strategy & Campaigns
- Help develop creative briefs for client campaigns
- Research trends, audiences, competitors, creators, memes, sounds, and cultural moments
- Help turn campaign goals and messaging into creative concepts, hooks, and content angles
- Pull references and examples to help communicate creative direction
- Brainstorm new content ideas and ways to adapt concepts across platforms
- Help review and organize creative before it goes live
- Support revisions and iterations based on internal and client feedback
- Collaborate on content ideas, concepts and executions
- Turn campaign briefs, scripts and references into short-form videos
- Source relevant footage, visuals, sounds, memes and cultural references
Social & Community
- Monitor TikTok and Instagram for relevant trends and content opportunities
- Support community management across client social accounts
- Help identify interesting comments, conversations, and audience insights
- Research creators, accounts, and communities relevant to different campaigns
- Stay up to date on platform trends and shifts in social culture
- Help identify content formats and trends that could be adapted for clients
Marketing Operations
- Maintain campaign spreadsheets, trackers, and other organizational systems
- Help organize creative assets, references, and campaign materials
- Support email communication and follow-ups as needed
- Assist with research, reporting, and other day-to-day marketing tasks
- Help the team stay organized and keep campaigns moving forward
What the work looks like
You’ll work closely with our founder and wider team to support the full creative process — from research and strategy to briefs, content development, and execution.
A typical week could include researching TikTok trends for an upcoming campaign, helping build a creative brief, creating TikTok or reels to support campaigns, pulling references for a new concept, monitoring a client’s community, organizing campaign data, and supporting the team with day-to-day marketing tasks.
The role will vary depending on active campaigns and team priorities. Some weeks may be more creatively focused, while others may involve more research, social media, or operational support.
The goal is to give you hands-on experience with how a creative marketing team develops ideas, builds campaigns, and executes social-first work for real clients.
You might be a fit if you
- Spend a lot of time on TikTok and Instagram and naturally understand what’s happening on social

- Work well in a fast-moving environment and are comfortable switching between creative and operational tasks
- Take feedback well and are willing to iterate
- Are based in San Diego and can occasionally work in person
Professional agency or marketing experience is not required. Personal projects, student organizations, social media experience, internships, or simply being deeply engaged with social and digital culture can all be relevant.
