Digital Media Intern

As a Digital Media Intern, you will support the team in creating, managing, and optimising content across digital platforms. You will gain hands-on experience in digital content production, online publishing, and audience engagement within a fast-paced media environment.

Key Responsibilities

Digital Content Creation:

• Assist in creating and publishing content for websites, blogs, and digital platforms

• Write and edit engaging copy tailored for online audiences

• Support the production of multimedia content, including images, video, and short-form content

Content Management & Publishing:

• Help manage and update website content using content management systems (CMS)

• Ensure all digital content is accurate, well-formatted, and aligned with brand guidelines

• Assist in scheduling and maintaining content across platforms

Social Media & Audience Engagement:

• Support the creation and scheduling of social media content

• Contribute ideas to increase audience engagement and online presence

• Monitor comments, messages, and interactions across platforms

Digital Strategy & Performance:

• Assist in analysing content performance using digital analytics tools

• Track engagement metrics and provide insights to improve content effectiveness

• Support the development and execution of digital campaigns

Research & Coordination:

• Conduct research on digital trends, audience behaviour, and relevant topics

• Assist with coordinating content across teams, including editorial and design

• Provide general administrative and organisational support as needed

Qualifications

Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Digital Media, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.a related field.

This internship is unpaid and requires an API program fee starting at $7,599. The fee covers the broader international program, including pre-departure services, housing, local logistics, on-site support, team-building activities, and post-program career support—including career coaching and access to the API Career Hub. Program fees vary by destination, duration, and included services.

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS

On-site Supervision and Support
Our internships include 24/7 on-site staff to support students working and living abroad. All students will also report to a supervisor at their internship site. Supervisors provide and oversee daily tasks, introduce the intern to team members, and mentor the intern in organizational agility, skill acquisition, and career readiness. Interns complete a midpoint and final evaluation, and supervisors complete a final evaluation of their interns. All work responsibilities and projects are approved in advance.

Academic Credit
Students on an internship have the opportunity to enroll in their home university for credit, or enroll in a course through API to transfer back to their university for credit. Email support-internships@apiexperience.com for more information and a syllabus.
