About Allegheny County DHS
Allegheny County Department of Human Services (DHS) connects people in need with services that help. Each year, DHS and its network of 300+ community-based organizations serve more than 200,000 residents across Allegheny County. Interns contribute to real public-sector work while learning alongside professionals working in human services, data, technology, policy, communications and program operations.
What You’ll Do
- Track and summarize policy and practice changes related to HR1 Medicaid implementation.
- Monitor public-benefits enrollment data and identify trends.
- Support communications and outreach about benefits changes and available assistance.
- Maintain current information on community resources and services.
- Support Allegheny Go transit-fare and DHS PennDOT ID program operations.
