Student Business Development Team Lead-SpaceX
Student Business Development Team Lead - SpaceX
SpaceX Starlink Customer Acquisition Program
Employer: Mosaic| Schedule: Part-time, W-2, 15 to 25 hours per week | Reports to: Regional Sales Manager
The opportunity
Want an exclusive part-time opportunity that is more than just a paycheck? As a Student Business Development Team Lead representing SpaceX on behalf of Mosaic, you will be on the front lines of the Starlink Customer Acquisition Program in your territory or on your campus. This role is primarily focused on sales, lead generation, community outreach, and customer conversations, with an added Team Lead component that allows you to help support local recruiting, scheduling, and team coordination throughout the program.
In this role, you will focus on introducing Starlink to potential customers, generating qualified interest, educating residents on the value of the service, and helping drive activations in your assigned area. As an added Team Lead feature, you may also help identify strong student referrals, support shift coordination, share field feedback, and serve as a helpful point of contact for your territory or campus. You will have the opportunity to earn $100 for each eligible referral you bring in who is hired and begins working on the program, in accordance with program referral guidelines.
About the company you will represent: SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.
Why this is a great student business development opportunity
• Build resume-worthy experience in sales, lead generation, customer engagement, territory outreach, follow-up, and business development.
• Represent a high-growth technology brand while helping expand access to reliable connectivity in nearby communities.
• Be part of a program connected to SpaceX's broader mission of developing technologies that make a more connected, future-focused world possible.
• Earn hourly pay, commission opportunities where applicable, and $100 for each eligible referral who is hired and starts working on the program.
• Build confidence talking with new people, handling objections, and learning how to turn conversations into results.
• Receive paid training, coaching, and support from Mosaic leaders, with the added opportunity to gain Team Lead exposure through recruiting support, scheduling assistance, and local team coordination.
What you will do
- Generate interest and drive customer conversations. You will engage residents in your assigned territory, introduce them to Starlink, explain the value of the service, answer basic questions, and help create qualified interest that can turn into activations.
- Support lead generation and territory outreach. You will work assigned areas, follow outreach guidance, track activity as required, and stay focused on meeting customer acquisition goals through consistent, professional, and energetic field execution.
- Add value as a Team Lead resource. In addition to your own sales and outreach responsibilities, you may help identify motivated student referrals, support shift coordination, assist with team communication, and share local insight to help the program run smoothly.
- Represent the program professionally. You will be expected to show up prepared, follow training and compliance expectations, communicate clearly, and create a positive experience for potential customers, campus partners, and local team members.
- Share insights from the field. You will provide feedback on customer questions, territory activity, outreach opportunities, scheduling needs, and ideas that may help improve the program experience and results.
Who will thrive in this role?
- You are currently enrolled in school and can work 15 to 25 hours per week around your class schedule, including some evenings and weekends when residents are most likely to be home and when team coverage may be needed.
- You have a reliable personal vehicle, a valid driver's license, and a smartphone. Because territories are rural, reliable transportation is important.
- You do not need prior formal management experience to be successful here. We are looking for students who are ambitious, dependable, coachable, comfortable starting conversations, and excited to build experience in sales and business development. Experience in sales, customer service, recruiting, athletics, student organizations, campus involvement, or event coordination is a plus.
- You are self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently in the field while also supporting basic Team Lead activities when needed. You will have a manager, training, territory guidance, and a clear plan, but your success will come from how consistently you engage customers, follow through, communicate, and bring energy to the program.
What you will walk away with
• Paid training from Mosaic and Starlink/SpaceX so you feel prepared before you go into the field.
• Real experience in sales, lead generation, territory planning, community outreach, and customer engagement.
• Coaching and feedback from experienced field sales leaders while gaining exposure to customer acquisition, territory execution, recruiting support, scheduling assistance, and team coordination.
• Resume-building experience with a well-known technology brand and a role that demonstrates sales ability, communication, initiative, follow-through, organization, and Team Lead support.
• Potential consideration for spring semester expansion opportunities or additional campus Team Lead responsibilities based on performance, team support, and program needs.
Pay, perks, and support
This role offers base pay of an hourly rate plus a $200 commission for each qualified activation, paid after the activation is qualified, where applicable based on role responsibilities and program guidelines. Team Leads may also receive $100 for each eligible referral who is hired and begins working on the program, subject to program referral guidelines. Compensation is designed to reward consistency, performance, and meaningful contribution to team growth. You will also receive paid training, mileage reimbursement, a monthly cell phone stipend, Mosaic-provided Starlink apparel, territory guidance, and regular manager support.
Program timeline and details
Paid training begins the week of October 5, 2026, with field selling from October 12 through the end of the year. The primary focus of the role is field selling, lead generation, customer outreach, and business development in the assigned territory. Team Lead support may include referrals, scheduling assistance, field feedback, and campus or territory coordination during the length of the assignment. Strong performers may be considered for spring semester expansion and additional campus Team Lead opportunities. Team Leads are W-2 employees of Mosaic, not of Starlink or SpaceX. Employment is contingent on a background check completed after offer. Some markets require a local solicitation permit, which Mosaic will help you obtain. Must be 18 or older and authorized to work in the United States.
