Unity Bands is seeking a motivated and analytical Research Intern to support organizational research, program development, and strategic initiatives.

The Research Intern will help investigate challenges facing healthcare workers, evaluate potential programs and services, analyze information, and develop actionable recommendations that support organizational decision-making.

This opportunity is ideal for students or emerging professionals interested in research, public health, nonprofit management, business strategy, social sciences, or data analytics.

Key Responsibilities

Research & Data Analysis

Conduct qualitative and quantitative research on healthcare workforce challenges, community needs, and emerging industry trends.

Gather, organize, and analyze information from credible academic, government, industry, and nonprofit sources.

Assist with developing surveys, needs assessments, interviews, and other research instruments.

Identify patterns, insights, and opportunities through data analysis and literature reviews.

Prepare research summaries, reports, presentations, and recommendations.

Program Research & Development

Research potential programs and services that align with Unity Bands' mission.

Support feasibility assessments for proposed initiatives, including operational requirements, anticipated costs, risks, and potential impact.

Evaluate comparable programs, nonprofit practices, and service delivery models.

Contribute research to initiatives such as transportation assistance, healthcare worker support programs, and community needs assessments.

Assist with establishing measurable outcomes and evaluation methods for proposed programs.

Strategic & Organizational Research

Research emerging opportunities, industry developments, and community challenges that may influence organizational priorities.

Conduct benchmarking and comparative analyses of nonprofit organizations and relevant service providers.

Support research related to organizational growth, sustainability, and program effectiveness.

Collaborate with Operations, Programs & Impact, Finance, and other departments on cross-functional research projects.

Translate research findings into practical recommendations for organizational leadership.

Research Documentation & Collaboration

Maintain organized research files, source references, datasets, and project documentation.

Communicate research findings, project progress, and recommendations during team meetings.

Contribute to ongoing research projects while independently managing assigned deliverables.

Proactively identify research questions and opportunities that could strengthen Unity Bands' programs and operations.
