About Enspired Solutions

Enspired Solutions is dedicated to destroying PFAS with on-site technology that connects to existing water treatment systems, eliminating the need for off-site disposal. Our engineers and scientists work from the VanCamp Research Lab in East Lansing and the Alliance Building in Lansing.

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Laboratory Intern to support bench-scale PFAS treatability studies and day-to-day lab operations. Our science team provides initial training, after which you will run routine tests with supervision and necessary support. This internship offers hands-on experience in environmental chemistry and in bringing a new technology to market.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform bench-scale PFAS treatability tests by strictly following written procedures.
• Prepare stock solutions, including precise massing of chemicals.
• Conduct initial sample analysis, including pH meter calibration and measurement.
• Record data, measurement times, observations and any deviations in the lab notebook, and photograph each experimental phase.
• Support sample shipping and receiving.
• Maintain lab cleanliness and safety and help track inventory of supplies and chemicals.
• Assist scientists in setting up and testing new experiment configurations, such as media adsorption systems.
• General office administrative support.

Qualifications

Required:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Chemistry, Chemical or Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• Classroom or work experience in a chemistry lab, including stock solution preparation, lab notebook documentation and pH measurement.
• Safe chemical-handling practices.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent record keeping.
• Eager to learn, with the ability to troubleshoot unexpected results.

Preferred:

• Advanced chemistry coursework or exposure to process engineering.
• Availability to work during the school winter break.

Schedule & Compensation

• Pay: $16 per hour.
• Hours: 8 to 16 hours per week. A minimum of 8 hours per week is guaranteed. Additional hours are scheduled with the Lab Manager based on project needs.
• Schedule: On-site at VanCamp Research Labs, East Lansing, MI, with flexible hours to accommodate your academic schedule.
• Winter break: Candidates who can work during the school winter break are preferred.
