Quality Lab Intern: Testing & Process Improvement

Quality Lab Intern: Testing & Process Improvement

Location: Cambria, WI (near Madison) Dates: Monday, May 24 – Friday, August 13, 2027 (12 weeks) Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00–3:30 or 8:00–4:30 Pay: $23.00/hour

The opportunity

Most interns run tests. You'll ask why we run them. In our quality lab, you'll dig into how our testing works, question the "way we've always done it," and help us make it better. You'll look at the basis behind each test, whether we're doing it correctly, and where better training and improvement can make a difference. You'll finish the summer with a project you present to our Executive Team.

What you'll do

Learn our lab testing from start to finish, working alongside our lab team Ask the hard questions: what is each test based on, and are we performing it correctly? Identify and recommend improvements to testing methods and processes Help build improvement and training materials for lab staff Support the rollout of approved changes Present your project and findings to the Executive Team in your final week Who you are A junior, senior, or graduate student with upper-level coursework behind you (we're not looking for freshmen or sophomores) Someone with hands-on lab experience, such as a college lab, a TA or RA role, or running lab setup for lower-level classes Ideally in your second internship, or currently in a lab or leadership role Curious and not afraid to ask "why" Someone who sees themselves as a future lab or quality manager, and wants to help button up processes rather than only work at the bench Interested in a master's program or a path into quality management (a plus)

You don't need to know our dry analytical lab methods. We'll teach you.
