Production Support Intern

Intern Program Overview

Job Summary:

As the Walsworth – Ripon Production Support Intern, you will have the opportunity to participate in training and projects within various production and production support departments. This position reports to production and production support management.

 

Essential Functions (Vary by Assigned Department):

  • Assist with review and upates to standard operating procedures (SOPs/work instructions)
  • Research and analyze equipment operations to improve efficiency 
  • Utilize Lean processes 
  • Assist with inventory preparations
  • Assist with print production process
  • Assist with Quality department projects
  • Maintain printing or printing support equipment
  • Work across company departments and divisions to accomplish company goals.
  • Comply with all work rules and regulations, including completion of safety training.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Display strong work ethic and problem-solving skills.
  • Display excellent verbal and written communication skills (i.e. strong customer service skills). 
  • Desire to learn, and ability to learn quickly.
  • Intermediate-level knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to utilize Lean processes 
  • Ability to identify and assist with Quality department projects
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects.
  • Ability to remain organized and self-directed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read, interpret and follow verbal and written instructions, work procedures and other related materials.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent  
  • Completion of at least 15 credit hours towards a degree or technical program (preferred) 
  • Have reliable transportation to and from the assigned office location 
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week; stand for at least 8 hours at a time; lift up to 30 lbs.
