Job Description
Reporting to the Senior Manager - Sustainability Strategy for Global Products in Consumer Products, Games & Publishing (CPGP), this individual will develop and deploy key processes, systems, and tools to enable more accurate and efficient measurement of our scope 3 GHG emissions and sustainability goals.
This individual will support the essential processes, systems, and tools that will equip The Walt Disney Company to unlock its next wave of short-term and long-term growth in products, while delivering against our sustainability goals.
Responsibilities
- Refine existing product classifications (product archetype) used for calculating our annual scope 3 emissions inventory. This may include recommending new archetypes that will enable a more accurate scope 3 inventory.
- Develop a preliminary scope 3 inventory of the secondary packaging associated with vertically developed global products.
- Provide technical guidance on emissions factors development associated with new product archetypes and secondary packaging.
- Support development of capability building content for vendor engagement related to reduction of their scope 1 and scope 2 GHG emissions.
- Foster use of data and external information to estimate scope 3 impact for our product archetypes and secondary packaging.
- Provide line-of-sight to Senior Manager on daily business issues.
- Collaborate cross-functional business partners and the corporate sustainability team to unlock areas of intersection / interdependency (“connect the dots”) as it relates to sustainability and scope 3 emissions.

- Completed bachelor’s degree in environmental studies or Sustainability or related field of study with an emphasis on GHG emissions/carbon footprints.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience using key digital tools such as Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint.
- An ability to simplify complex problems, synthesize data, and create compelling narratives to inform decision making.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with individuals and teams (both small and large, technical and non-technical)
- Excellent organizational skills
Required Education
- Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program, Environmental Studies or Sustainability. With an emphasis on GHG emissions /carbon footprints
Additional Information
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship.
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
- Must possess unrestricted work authorization
- Must provide full work availability
- All candidates must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session
- All candidates must have a consistent, reliable home internet and WiFi connection
- Program Length: The approximate dates of this internship are January 2024 – June 2024
