The Mechanical Design Engineering Intern plays a crucial role in creating a competitive advantage for our customers and reports to the Engineering Manager.

·        Continually improving product designs by seeking input from Production, Sales and Engineering to implement best in class production techniques and processes.

·        Create accurate documentation for equipment, including but not limited to: drawings, bills of material, sketches, written and verbal instructions.

·        Supports the engineering department in product design on new and existing projects.

·        Supports production engineering activities and improvements.

·        Utilizes systematic problem solving methodology to identify root causes of product application/quality problems and make recommendations for improvements.

·        Works with the Supply Base group in supplier selection through the assessment of supplier capabilities, capacity and ability to meet quality and delivery requirements.

·        Be able to provide minor support in the shop or test area when required

·        Enrolled in a 2- or 4-year technical program.

·        Knowledge and/or experience with CAD design, 3D modeling (solidworks)

 

·        Must be able to see, talk, hear, and grasp

·        Be able to climb, stoop, or crouch

·        Must be able to lift up to 10lbs

 

·        Less than 10% travel possible

·        Must comply with corporate requirements for confidentiality and non-compete agreements
