New Jersey Reentry Internship

The New Jersey Reentry Corporation (NJRC) is a non-profit agency with a social mission to remove all barriers to employment for citizens returning from incarceration.

Job description:

Employment-focused, data driven, non-profit organization serving court-involved individuals currently seeking interns for the Carteret (Middlesex County) location. This is an unpaid opportunity that can lead to a full-time opportunity for the ideal candidate. 

·        Cover front desk activities and handle phone calls

·        Filing, assembling and organizing client charts, assembling orientation folders for new incoming clients

·        Calling and confirming new client referrals

·        Basic data entry in excel or google docs

·        Researching employment opportunities, apartments, educational/vocational programs

·        Creating, editing/revising resumes and assisting clients 

·        Helping clients create email accounts

·        Creating, editing/revising resumes and assist clients with resume creation

·        Following up with employers for verification

·        Helping clients fill out forms and job applications

·        Creating power points or materials for workshops

·        Co-facilitating Workshops

·        Assisting with Job Fairs

·        Reminding clients of appointments

·        Referral follow up

·        Literature reviews and basic research

·        Provide assistance to NJRC staff, as needed

 

Preferred Qualifications:

·        Direct experience with court-involved citizens or the underserved populations

·        Experience working in an administrative professional and/or non-profit setting
