EZMetrology is a medium size business based in Commerce Township. With a group of about 20 talented people, EZMetrology develops ground-breaking measurement technology for companies around the world. Since 2006, multiple ideas have started from a sketch and evolved from prototype to final commercial product.

For the summer we set aside several framed projects for students that enables them to experience working in a dynamic company with real topics that are just waiting for a solution. 

The projects are listed below per category: Development, Support, Marketing and Management. 

The positions are open for motivated people that are not afraid of a challenge, can be independent and are looking for an exciting experience. All positions are mentored although a level of independence and initiative is expected.

All positions are compensated in line with experience level, performance, and project difficulty. 

TECHNICAL - DEVELOPMENT 

TD1. EZMotion Accessories Design

 • Assist the development department with investigating, experimenting, and designing a handheld Probe for EZMotion and work on a rugged Motion Connection. The task includes the research of potential designs and their pro and con’s, conclude, and proceed with design, approval, manufacturing, and prototyping. 

• Requirements: Fulltime

 • Skills: CAD ++ 

TD2. EnergyPod Tool Design

• Investigate, experiment, and design ForceBay and PressureBay. The task includes the research of potential designs and their pro and con’s, conclude, and proceed with design, approval, manufacturing, and prototyping.

 • Requirements: Fulltime

• Skills: CAD ++ 

TD3. Localization (Motion IOManager) 

• Assist our software development team with implementation of the multi-language support for the different software solutions. Coding in the C# code, the strings and resource management 

• Requirements: Fulltime

 • Skills: Programming (C#) + / Git + 

TD4. Time Logging Application (Windows) 

• In collaboration with technical staff, discuss the requirements for the application. Proceeding with implementation and deployment of this windows app.

• Requirements: Fulltime 

• Skills: Programming (C#) + / Git + 

TD5. Motion Modeling 

• Assist the development department in experimenting with simulating a stereo vision system and the parameters that define it. Collect measurement data and identify aspects, experiment with algorithms and mathematical models to answer the questions. • Requirements: Fulltime 

• Skills: Programming (C#) + / Git + 

TECHNICAL - SUPPORT 

TS1. Application Development 

• Work with our support team to test, documenting and work on product demonstrations. This includes Datasheets (Sealscan-PressurePod), Performance Testing (SealScan), Manuals (EZSlam) and Training slides (EZSlam). The tools, potential setup procedures, software scripts will be established to cover an application.

 • Requirements: Part/Fulltime 

• Skills: Math ++ / Excel ++ / PowerPoint ++ 

TS2. Technical Documentation

 • Learn all about the latest technology EZMetrology has developed and assist in writing the technical documentation based on, training, explanation from developers and testing results. 

• Requirements: Part/Full Time

TS3. Product Audit

 • Audit any of the existing products in all aspects. This covers its documentation: Product certification, build manuals, technical leaflets, presentations. It is expected to have a constructive critical view of the product, the documentation and suggest improvement. 

• Requirements: Part / Fulltime • Skills: Technical Understanding + / Writing + 

MARKETING 

M1. Insite / SharePoint (intranet website) 

• Work together with our web development and the operations team to develop accessibility, content, training videos and information for the employees of EZMetrology. Work with all teams to learn about their requirements, propose and implement the solution to facilitate access to information. 

• Requirements: Part / Full time • Skills: Website Programming + M2. Media Material • Work with our technical and marketing team to script, shoot, edit and publish short videos related to technology such as SpeedPod. Material can be in-person video as well as basic animations or drawings. • Requirements: Part / Fulltime • Skills: Media ++ Internships

MANAGEMENT OPERATIONAL

O1. Operational Procedures

 • Assist the operations team in establishing and documenting the existing dataflow throughout the organization. Based on the discussion with individual teams, we can document the current procedure, identify opportunities to improve and compile the flowcharts for the different processes. 

• Requirements: Part / Fulltime • Skills: Organizations ++ 

O2. Translation Support 

• Assist the document management team in translating a number of documents to other languages. The language will be dependent on the candidate’s skill level. Potential languages that are on the roadmap German, Italian, Spanish, Korean, Chinese, Japanese.

• Requirements: Foreign language / Fulltime • Skills: Word ++
