Facility Operations Associate

Facility Operations Associates assist with daily tasks that include moving of furniture, basic cleaning, preparing rooms for events, simple grounds maintenance. 

Event tasks could include setting up and monitoring A/V equipment, adjusting and breaking down tables, assisting catering and security staff for the safety and comfort of guests.

Responsibilities include the physical care and maintenance of the building and the preparation of rooms and grounds for events. Work schedule is primarily nights and weekends.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school graduation or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of event set-up, custodial or directly related experience
  • Ability to coordinate program set-up requirements
  • Ability to perform physically active work requiring frequent standing, reaching, walking, bending, pulling, pushing, climbing ladders, and lifting in order to perform various cleaning and set-up tasks; frequent lifting requires the execution of at least sixty (60) pounds of force to move furniture , equipment, use supplies and cleaning aids.
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn methods of proper art object handling and maintenance of historic building and interiors
  • Valid Michigan driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to the university’s insurance carrier.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check
