Film Producer Assistant

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic intern to join our team as a Film Producer Assistant. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in film production within the genre film industry. As an integral member of our team, you will work closely with experienced producers and contribute to the development, production, and promotion of innovative projects.

Possible Responsibilities

• Assist producers in various stages of film production, including pre-production, production, and post-production activities.
• Conduct research and assist in project development, including script analysis, storyboarding, and creative brainstorming sessions.
• Coordinate logistics for film shoots, including scheduling, location scouting, and equipment rental arrangements.
• Liaise with cast, crew, and vendors to ensure smooth production operations and timely execution of project milestones.
• Provide administrative support, including managing documents, organizing meetings, and maintaining production databases.
• Assist in promotional activities, including social media campaigns, press releases, and film festival submissions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the successful execution of film projects and meet production deadlines.

Qualifications

• Passion for genre films and storytelling, with a strong interest in horror, sci-fi, fantasy, thriller, action, and adventure genres.
• Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Film Studies, Media Production, or a related field.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
• Proficiency in relevant software tools, such as Microsoft Office suite and project management platforms.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and willingness to take on new challenges in a dynamic industry.

Our headquarters spans between Spain and Brazil, where we strategically develop, finance, and produce high-quality content. Since our establishment in 2018, we have produced four feature films and 28 short films to great success. Our films have been officially selected in over 1000 important genre festival sections worldwide, and have earned almost 300 awards, including two consecutive wins at the legendary Screamfest in Los Angeles, as well as other prestigious awards like the Brigadoon Paul Naschy. Our debut feature film, The Passenger (2021), has been sold in more than 65 countries and has remained in the TOP 10 on Amazon Prime Video Spain for several weeks. The movie premiered at the Sitges Film Festival before it was screened at other major genre festivals worldwide. It also sold out its physical format editions. Our second film, The Elderly (2022), was one of the most important horror productions of the year and has participated in the world’s most iconic genre festivals, earning Best Actor recognition at the esteemed Fantasia de Montreal (Zorión Eguileor). The movie has been sold to over 35 countries and has received great feedback in its physical format sales. We are currently collaborating with key stakeholders in the Ibero-American market to create innovative projects featuring both promising and established talent. On-site Supervision and Support

Our internships include 24/7 on-site staff to support students working and living abroad. All students will also report to a supervisor at their internship site. Supervisors provide and oversee daily tasks, introduce the intern to team members, and mentor the intern in organizational agility, skill acquisition, and career readiness. Interns complete a midpoint and final evaluation, and supervisors complete a final evaluation of their interns. All work responsibilities and projects are approved in advance. 
 

Academic Credit

Students on an internship have the opportunity to enroll in their home university for credit, or enroll in a course through API to transfer back to their university for credit. Email support-internships@apiexperience.com for more information and a syllabus.
