Firmware Engineering Intern

What You’ll Do:

 The Firmware Engineering Intern is responsible for developing and researching integration of sensors and software into innovative and leading pet care robots. They will also be responsible for gathering data and reporting on their findings. They will work closely with Engineers as the team goes through the development and decision making process that enables the next generation of pet care.

  • Programs embedded microcontrollers
  • Performs tests on physical prototypes
  • Documents their findings on research tasks
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams that enable robots to talk to the cloud
  • Will perform additional responsibilities when required

 

Requirements

What You’ll Bring:

  • Enrolled in BA/BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science at a Sophomore or greater level
  • Programming experience in C, C++
  • Demonstrate successful projects in Arduino or Raspberry Pi embedded systems
  • Basic knowledge of WiFi and Bluetooth technology
  • Ability to use Google GSuite products
  • Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information
  • Ability to maintain a professional atmosphere in a fast-paced environment with numerous interactions and interruptions
  • A high degree of initiative, self-motivation, and ability to motivate others
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with Team Members and colleagues
  • Comfortable with office pets (cats, dogs)

Not Required but Nice to Have!

  • Programming experience in Python
  • Understanding of AWS/Cloud relationships
  • Understanding of MQTT protocol
  • Understanding of embedded Linux
  • Understanding of UART/I2C/SDIO
