Development Internship

Development Internship  (Full-Time - seasonal)

Job Summary:

The Development Intern will assist the FTGC Development Team with activities related to fundraising and donor stewardship. Primary activities include: event planning and logistics, social media planning/posts, development of marketing materials/signage/banners, donor tracking, and communications. The candidate must have access to reliable transportation to be able to occasionally travel between program sites and event locations. 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Must be currently enrolled in a 4-year college/university • Coursework in communications, journalism, public relations, business administration, marketing or sports management • Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint • Experience with Canva/design • Willingness to learn and grow as a leader and professional • Self-starter, creative and motivated • Works well alone and in a team environment • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Must be in good academic standing • Flexibility to work occasional nights/weekends. 

 

Development Intern Responsibilities:

Assist with administrative tasks (e.g. copying, filing, mailings) • Conduct phone and email correspondence • Generate content for marketing materials, events, and social media • Write and edit succinct, emotionally powerful stories and profiles (participants, coaches and volunteers) • Generate donor reports • Support staff during donor events, including planning and logistics • Other duties as assigned.

 

Capstone project: 

The Development intern will be required to participate in a capstone project during their internship, to be presented to FTGC staff at the completion of their internship. Topic to be selected in conjunction with program leadership once the candidate starts. 

     

Selected candidates are required to participate in a criminal background check and complete SafeSport training;  must have access to reliable transportation and be able to drive to locations throughout Chicago and occasional suburbs, as needed.
