Contract Duration – Nine months (Until Dec 2024)

EPIC India researchers work hand-in-hand with government and industry partners to identify innovative ideas, pilot them on the ground, and rigorously measure outcomes.

Position Summary

As part of a replacement for maternity leave, EPIC India is looking for an Intern (Social Media) to anchor its social media platforms and augment the reach & engagement of its digital channels.

The ideal candidate is well-versed in developing and managing social media content across different digital channels and amplifying the organization’s work to engage the target audience and build brand visibility. The candidate must be aware of the latest digital tools and trends and have a proven track record of growing engaged communities. Being able to strike a harmony between creative and analytical abilities will remain the cornerstone of this role. The position reports to the Regional Director, Communications at EPIC India. Ideally, the chosen candidate would work remotely during the academic year and in person in Delhi, India during the summer months, though there is flexibility for the right candidate.

Role

  1. Manage EPIC India’s social media platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram). Design platform-specific strategies, curate and post compelling platform-specific content in line with organizational priorities and communicate and engage priority audiences effectively.
  2. Develop, test, and implement an integrated digital marketing strategy to augment the reach and engagement of EPIC India’s social media channels.
  3. Support creation of the monthly social media performance report – do a gap analysis, spot trends, adopt best practices, adjust existing tactics and execute innovative ideas – to enhance brand awareness in the digital space.
  4. Craft and execute a strategy to improve website traffic of the EPIC India and Clean Air Market websites by optimizing SEO, adding new keywords, tracing google algorithms, understanding audience engagement trends, etc.
  5. Support the production of EPIC India monthly newsletter.
  6. Support the communication and research team in organising events and brand building exercises such as Talk series, Podcasts, Twitter Chat Sessions, Webinars, etc.
  7. Perform digital content audits, collect and analyze metrics of social media accounts and adjust tactics to improve reach and engagement. Monitor the latest digital trends, adopt sectoral best practices – innovate and experiment.
  8. Ensure strategic engagement with EPIC India mailing list, including updating and maintaining the lists’ segmentation and developing formatting & scheduling need-based e-mailers. Plan and support a regular schedule of email marketing activity, growing subscriber base, and testing to optimize results.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism or other related disciplines.
  • A minimum 2-3 years of experience in handling social media accounts for organizations (preferably non-profits).
  • Experience in managing multiple social media platforms at the same time with an integrated outcome. Familiarity with SEM & SEO skills to accelerate digital engagement across platforms.
  • Proven ability to simplify complex research into digestible content and customize it for different social media platforms.
  • Experience in synthesizing research findings in a creative, clear, and concise way for press briefs, website features, and other outreach materials.
  • Portray excellent analytical skills and demonstrate fluency in converting insights into tactics. Good knowledge of google analytics, social media monitoring tool, etc.
  • Experience in running promotion campaigns across different channels. Knowledge of Google Analytics, Google AdWords, Facebook for business, Twitter, Email marketing and LinkedIn advertising.
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of the Hindi language is an asset, but not required.
  • Experience in designing creative content for social media on design software or platforms like Canva will be an added advantage.
