Project Engineer Intern

Position Overview

 

This skilled position as a Project Engineer Intern involves the assisting and management as directed by Estimator/Project Managers and/or Supervisors in Yellowstone National Park.

**The position will require the successful applicant to live within the boundaries of Yellowstone National Park at a remote site to assist the management team in delivering a quality product to the client.**

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

 

  • Actively participate in acquisition and maintenance of permits, City, Vehicle, SWPPP, etc.
  • Assist in daily production data entry and maintain projects schedules.
  • Add Phases at the request of the Superintendents. Distribute project documents to field.
  • Attend pre-construction, project hand-off, cost reviews, and project job progress meetings
  • Verify aggregate pricing, quantity, and coding daily
  • Process change orders and T&M work tickets as needed by the Project Managers
  • Assist with purchase orders, submittals, and project supplier quotes
  • Assist estimating team with RFI logs, change orders, and submittals
  • Adhere to and be a champion for company safety programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all company and governmental regulations.
  • Provide training certifications to customers as requested

 

 

Additional Responsibilities (As Needed & Directed by Operations Manager)

 

  • Estimate and manage projects assigned by the Operations or Estimating Manager.
  • Attend weekly partnering meetings. 
  • Maintain estimating bidding log and pipeline
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Operations, Estimating and/or General Manager.

Education/Experience

Enrolled in a program for a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or other related field.   0 - 5 years construction experience is preferred with; or an equivalent of education and experience will be accepted

 

Work Requirements

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. 
  • Ability to write correspondence. 
  • Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. . 
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 
  • Ability to compute, rate, ration, percent, land to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to type and use keyboards accurately and have knowledge of Database software.
