What is This Opportunity?

The Engineering Co-op role is primarily focused on assisting with team projects within the Engineering Department.  This is a great opportunity for a student to gain purchasing experience in the automotive industry, working with a dynamic team of professionals from around the globe.  We are looking for a student to support full-time during the summer (40hr / week minimum) and reduce their schedule to part time when school resumes (20hr / week minimum). 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with an Application engineering team based in Michigan and Mexico on product development and product launches.
  • Provides support to application team, validation team, quality team and program management office. 
  • Participates in design reviews, part teardowns and customer meetings. 
  • Learns about and adheres to the principles found in the Global Code of Conduct
  • Maintains accurate information and reports in our engineering modules. 
  • Receive engineering experience including product design, testing, validation, reporting, GD&T, CAE and product launches. 

Education and Experience:

  • Seeking students in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree who are interested in pursuing a career in Mechanical Engineering 
  • Strong leadership and time management skills
  • Proven track record of working collaboratively.
  • Self-motivated, able to perform role with minimal supervision, taking ownership, with a sense of urgency.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment to consistently achieve results.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers. 
  • Experience in multicultural environment.
  • Microsoft Excel and Teams experience required.
  • Hand-on experience with hand tools and power tools is a plus.
